Transform your Redgrass wet palette into a dry palette with the RGG Glass Palette. Specially developed for oil painting and weathering techniques, it also works perfectly with acrylics that does not play well with the wet palette.

Made from tempered glass with bevelled edges and rounded corners, it is durable, safe, and easy to clean. The neutral gray background ensures accurate color perception, while four non-slip feet keep it stable on your desk or in your case.

Just make sure you pick the size so it fits inside your Redgrass wet palette.

RGG Glass Palette

The glass palette for oils, acrylics, and drybrushing

The Redgras Glass Palette is a glass palette for painting miniatures, oil paints, pigments, heavy body acrylics, and drybrushing. Reusable, easy to clean, and the only dry palette you will ever need.

Redgrass Games Glass Palette for miniature painting

Built for oil, pigments, and every dry technique

Three features that make the RGG Glass Palette a permanent fixture on the workbench rather than a disposable sheet.

Clean it. Reuse it.

Dried acrylic peels away in seconds and oil paint lifts with a drop of solvent. A single glass palette replaces stacks of disposable dry palettes.

Fits inside Everlasting Wet Palettes

Swap the hydration foam and membrane for the glass insert when you move to oils, pigments, or drybrushing. Close the case and the paints stay safe until the next session.

Versatile across media

Designed for oils, equally at home with pigments, heavy body acrylics, drybrushing, and gouache. The neutral grey surface renders colour honestly.

Master oil paint techniques

Heavily thinned, oil paints offer a realistic range of weathering effects. They also make effective washes and filters for flesh tones and large vehicle panels.

Used unthinned, they give miniature painters a route to subtle techniques such as non-metallic metal and object source lighting in far less time than acrylics demand.

Old school paint. New tech.

Oil paints open up possibilities that miniature painters who are used to acrylics rarely encounter. Centuries of refinement behind them, rich pigmentation, and drying times measured in hours or days.

That extra working time gives painters space to explore, be adventurous, and correct mistakes. Paired with the Redgrass Glass Palette, oils become a pleasure to use.

Advanced techniques, made easy

Non-metallic metal, blending, object source lighting: these do not have to take months or years of practice to master. Oil paint on a glass palette is a very effective route to striking results in far less time.

Keep your oil paint fresh

To extend the life of your oil paints, store the glass palette insert inside an Everlasting Wet Palette case. Sealed inside, the paints stay safe and stable, ready for the next session. The glass insert is sized for Painter Lite, Painter v2, and Studio XL v2.

Care instructions

A few minutes of care after each session keeps the palette flawless for years. Avoid metal scrapers: they scratch any glass palette.

Oil paint

Wet oil paint: wipe clean with a cloth soaked in mineral spirits (white spirit) or turpentine.

Dry oil paint: remove with an appropriate paint cleaner, such as white spirit or turpentine. A plastic scraper helps if needed.

Tip: oil paint lifts cleanly with a dry cloth or paper towel before it fully cures, so you can skip the solvents entirely if you catch it early.

Acrylic paint

Wet acrylic paint: wipe clean with a cloth soaked in water.

Dry acrylic paint: dried heavy-body acrylic peels away easily. Remove any remainder with a damp cloth or acrylic paint cleaner.

Tip: soak the glass palette in warm (not hot) water for a few minutes. Most acrylic paints peel away on their own.
