3D Printing

Most 3D printing setups are well thought through up to the point of the print itself. The printer is dialled in, the slicer settings are refined, the resin or filament is chosen carefully. Then post-processing happens under a desk lamp that was not designed for this, with whatever cutting tool came in the kit, and that is where quality starts to slip.

For resin printers, the stakes are highest. You have just spent hours printing something with fine surface detail, and now you need to remove supports without leaving marks or damaging the surface underneath. FDM printing presents the same problem wherever supports or bed adhesion need to be removed. A dual-bladed flush cutter leaves almost nothing behind, which means less sanding, less filling, and less time on parts that need to be perfect.

Lighting is the other half of the post-processing problem. Under poor light, surface defects, layer artefacts, and colour inaccuracies are invisible until the part is already in someone else's hands. The Redgrass R9 lamp renders colour accurately and eliminates the shadows that hide surface detail, so defects become visible before they become your problem to explain. For FDM printers doing prototyping or colour-matched work, that same accuracy matters every time you compare prints or inspect a part before it goes forward.

This is not about having better gear. It is about not handing off work that does not meet the standard you were aiming for.
