Redgrass Sprue Cutters and RGG Precision Nippers are both precision tools for removing parts from sprues, but they focus on slightly different strengths. Sprue Cutters give you more stability and strength on every cut, and they handle thicker sprues and tougher plastics with confidence. Precision Nippers are designed to cut as close and as clean as possible to the part you want off the sprue.
Many painters work with a single tool: cut the part from the sprue, then clean up what is left with a knife or similar.

If you want the cleanest result with the least stress on the plastic, using both tools in a simple two-step method is best.
Use the Sprue Cutters for the first cut a little away from the part to get it off the sprue, then switch to the Precision Nippers to make the final close cut on the remaining nub, especially on visible areas where every mark would show.
