Really impressed with this light. The build quality is top notch and its super sturdy, holding its position even when hanging wayyy over my deep workbench. Excellent light that shows you lots of subtleties and doesn’t tire your eyes. I use it for so much more than painting. The arm is surprisingly sturdy — much more so than even most boom mic arms. — In fact, RedGrass if you’re reading this: I’d love to buy the arm separately with a universal connector so I can attach mics, maybe even a camera etc. — Lastly, it’s a pretty big lamp but if you fold it up all the way it doesn’t take up much space at all.

The lamp is really great and illuminates the miniature completely, making painting much easier! The two lamp bars, which can be adjusted separately, allow for great lighting variation. My only wish: the lowest lighting level could be even lower, which would be useful for photography. Overall, a great product and worth the price.

Great lamp. What’s the next step after the reduced Solo? Maybe a larger variant with three lights? Sometimes i wish there was a third or that i can pull the two tubes a bit further apart.
I like the minimalist design and would love to see what redgrass would create as a kind of blinged out version in the future, design wise and extras.

Its a really good lamp, I haven’t painted much with it so I can’t tell you about colour accuracy when painting. But it’s nice having controllable light settings. Soft light source for reading and painting is nice. The arms are nice and stiff. Only downside is the clamp that attaches to your desk needs to be bigger as when you move the lamp around it has enough force to move the clamp around that it starts peeling off the rubber in-between the clamp and desk

After over 6 months of use I can genuinely say this is by far the best painting light I have ever used.
I have tried a ton of different solution ranging from simple led strips to the cheap and famous ikea tertial lights.
None of it beats the quality of this light.
It’s insanely accurate, incredibly bright and still manages to be easy on the eyes.
The double adjustable lights create a great coverage of the mini.

I LOVE this lamp! I was concerned that the lamp would not be worth the money. But it IS. Period. It provides perfect illumination. Steady , consistent light. Clear, vibrant color. Flexible, yet steady, arms and rotating light bars allow me to get the light I need where I need it. I use it for painting miniatures. However, I now also find myself using it for a variety of other projects as well. In fact, I use this light frequently enough that I have also ordered two units of the R9 Solo so that I can take this quality lighting with me on the go. (So can my daughter, who is an artist and loves my lamp. Maybe now I won’t have to struggle with her for who gets to use it!) Bottom line: WELL worth the money! This is the lamp I will point anyone to if they need good quality light, especially for any form of art.

I now own two of these installed in the centre of my desktop. Right pointing for the painting side and left pointing for the construction side. These lamps are incredible. I can paint in complete darkness, just using these lamps so I am not disturbed by ambient light. The colour rendition is great. Its functionality is superb and the usability + design are spot on. First I missed more features like changing the colors or temperature of the light, but when in use while building my space marine army its perfect.

I have recently returned to miniature painting after decades away and one of the key issues I found was that I was not able to make out the miniature clearly. This lamp is expensive, but I have spent the same amount on half a dozen lights of Amazon and none of them were any good. This lamp is very very good – bright and easy to move about, My painting is much improved and I am fairly sure at this point I will not need to buy another desk lamp ever – it is robust and made to last.

Very very expensive, but by far the best lamp i have ever had. I had tried several other lamps before, but thanks to this one i really went from struggling with stray shadows, off looking colors and weird light coverage to just not having those issues at all anymore.
The build quality is also fantastic, its sturdy and easy to adjust.
The only two complaints i could mention are that i wish it had a separate button for brightness and that i would love a slightly longer version of this lamp, but these are really nothing major.
Fantastic lamp and i would strongly recommend it if you can afford it.
But also @Redgrassgames: Please sell spare parts for it in the future.

The lamp is amazing! I bought it for my husband who already had a good and pricy painting lamp, and at first he was “why waste the money?” But then he installed it, turned it on, and wow. Everything just came to life. He used to take his minis to the window to check them under natural light, there’s no need now. And it’s incredible to photograph with.
