How to clean a Wet Palette (lid & tray).

How to clean a wet palette – advice for all sizes and models of Wet Palettes #

“How to clean a wet palette” is often one of the first queries from miniature painters new to using wet palettes. It’s essential to understand that both the tray and the lid can easily accumulate marks from acrylic paints, washes, inks, etc., over time. While this is inevitable, most of these marks can be removed with warm water, a bit of dish soap, and a gentle scrub. For more stubborn paint stains, 70-90% alcohol can be utilized. The nature of acrylic paint and inks may cause some marks to become permanent, but rest assured, these will not affect the performance of your wet palette in any way.

If your wet palette has accumulated a residue or developed an unpleasant smell over time, scrubbing it with warm water, soap, and a non-abrasive sponge can help. Additionally, using white vinegar can aid in reducing any bad odors.

We do NOT recommend any type of paint remover/stripper (even products designed for acrylic model paint) as it may damage the palette.
